Legislators have proposed slashing $10 billion in education funding.  Unless you speak up, schools could be closed, routes consolidated and your jobs may be lost!

Dallas ISD Preliminary Budget Reduction Plan

Major cuts being proposed within Dallas ISD. The worst case scenario means more children and fewer teachers. The district is cutting 3,900 positions, which means 3,100 teachers and counselors will be eliminated.

Being at your campus/worksite gives you the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of the daily workings and transactions that take place.  NEA-Dallas would like to have your thoughts on places that you feel the Dallas ISD administration should consider reducing once the state funding figures are arrived at by the 2011 legislators who are in session from January – May 2011.
